인간에게 도움을 주기 위해 만들어지는 기계들이 도리어 인간을 위협하는 상황은 더 이상 낯선 상상의 이야기는 아니다. ‘T-cell’이라는 면역세포의 본성이 인간의 면역이라면 ‘Tech’라는 기계장치의 본성은 인간의 편리였다. 그러나 인간의 활동이 ‘오류’가 된다면? 면역세포는 면역 질환이 될 수도, 기계장치는 인간의 컨트롤을 초월하는 지점으로 치달을 수 있다. <오류>는 기계적 오브제를 통해 VR이나 AR과 같은 가상적 스크리닝 없이도 가상현실에 이끌려 온 것 같은 경험을 제공하며 인간 활동의 의미에 대해 사유를 던진다.
<Error> is a type of mechanical immunocyte. Within the given space that the artist has chosen for the exhibition, human beings are metaphorically analyzed as viruses and machines as immunizing systems. From the moment the audience enters the designated exhibition space, they encounter these ‘Errors’ responding to their movements and face themselves in a reversed situation as ‘human viruses’ If the basic function of immunocytes ’T-cell’ are immunizing human, the mechanical system of ‘Tech’s function would be to given services for the convenience of human society. But both of them face dilemmas due to various human activities and conditions, leading to unmanageable results. This work reexamines the context of a human within the realm of mechanical society by establishing a new type of interactive relationship between machines and humans.
