공간에서 <NODE>를 여는 <KEY OBJECT>를 발견하세요. <OBJECT>의 무게에 따라 각기 다른 <FREQUENCY>의 <PORTAL>이 열립니다.
김준수는 삶 속에서 경험한 공간과 공간 사이의 이동 과정에 주목합니다. 비행기의 통로, 지하철의 터널, 원형의 구조물을 통과할 때마다 작가는 마치 <Portal>을 지나듯 독특한 경험을 하게 됩니다. 부산 녹산산단 내 설치된 이번 작품은 그런 경험의 재현이자 확장입니다.
높이 5.5m의 원통형 구조물로 구성된 작품은 수학적 정밀성을 바탕으로 정확한 간격을 두고 배치된 9개의 모듈로 이루어져 있습니다. 작품 내부에는 천천히 회전하는 72개의 프리즘이 메커니컬 스트럭처와 결합되어 빛의 파동을 공간에 펼쳐냅니다. 프리즘의 회전 속도는 관객이 작품 옆에 설치된 저울에 올려놓는 오브제의 무게에 따라 가변적으로 조절되며, 이를 통해 관객은 자신만의 빛의 포탈을 여는 특별한 경험을 하게 됩니다.
작가는 공간을 끊임없이 변화하는 에너지의 장으로 바라보고, 빛을 통해 공간의 물리적 경계를 초월한 확장된 감각을 제안합니다. 작품이 설치된 공간은 관객의 존재와 참여에 의해 비로소 완성되며, 각 관객이 선택한 오브제의 무게에 따라 서로 다른 주파수의 포탈이 열립니다.

Junsoo Kim focuses on the transitional experience encountered when moving between spaces. Passing through cylindrical structures—such as airplane cabins, subway tunnels, or circular passages—evokes the unique sensation of traversing a <Portal>. This installation, located in the Noksan Industrial Complex in Busan, embodies and expands upon these personal experiences.
The artwork is a cylindrical structure standing 5.5 meters tall, consisting of nine modules arranged with precise mathematical spacing. Inside, 72 prisms rotate slowly within a mechanical structure, spreading waves of light throughout the space. The rotation speed of these prisms varies according to the weight of objects placed by visitors on a scale beside the installation, allowing each viewer to create their own unique portal experience.
Kim sees space as a constantly shifting energy field and uses light to transcend its physical boundaries, suggesting an expanded sensory perception. The installation relies entirely on audience presence and participation, opening portals of varying frequencies determined by the weight of each visitor’s chosen object.
